The Costa Blanca is easily and quickly accessible by car, train, and plane. By car, it's approximately 1,800/2,000 km from the Netherlands or Belgium, easily a two-day drive. After all, your holiday begins the moment you step outside your door.
Traveling to the Costa Blanca
Every holiday, whether it starts by plane, train, or car, has its advantages. Traveling by car or train offers more to experience and see. Driving through the beautiful French countryside and making pleasant stops, you know your holiday has already begun. The journey by car can be completed in two days; the first day, to the French-Spanish border in Perpignan, is a 1,300 km drive. The next day, it's another 700 km to Alicante, arriving in the afternoon. Another advantage is that you have your own car there and no need to rent one. The advantage of flying, on the other hand, is that you can get there quickly; the flight takes a maximum of 2.5 hours. It's generally cheaper to fly with two people than to drive. The average train journey time from Amsterdam to Alacant Terminal is 28 hours and 7 minutes.
Traveling by plane is of course faster and cheaper if two people travel
By plane, you can reach your holiday destination quickly and comfortably. It's an easy way to travel and offers all the conveniences you need. From Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, you can fly to Alicante Airport in just 2.5 hours. There are various departure points and airlines to reach Alicante or Murcia. From the Netherlands (Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Eindhoven-Maastricht) and from Belgium (Brussels-Ostend-Liège), you can fly with various airlines, meaning there are plenty of affordable flights available.
Please note: It is cheaper to book a one-way ticket and there is more flexibility in your arrival and departure times.
You can choose from Vueling, EasyJet, TUI, and Rayanair, for example. Vliegwinkel.nl , Cheaptickets.nl , and Skyscanner.nl are websites where you can easily find the best flights.

Travel to Spain with your own car
If you're traveling by car, it's important to be well prepared. Take your time; your vacation begins the moment you get in the car, so make sure you enjoy everything you see along the way.
Travel wisely: Remember your travel documents, such as your green card, travel and credit letter from the ANWB (for the Netherlands), and leave your holiday address for those staying at home.
Hotels: You can book your hotel from the Netherlands or Belgium and of course there are several good hotels along the motorway where you can enjoy a pleasant overnight stay.
Getting there: If you're traveling to the Costa Blanca with more than two people, this is the most economical option. You'll also have the comfort of your own car there.
Calling: Once you arrive near Alicante, please call the telephone number of the manager of your holiday home so that he/she can meet you on site.
Route planner: With a route planner, choosing the right route is incredibly easy. Print out the route, and one for the return trip, too, of course! Google Maps is by far the best navigation tool in Spain.
Parking at the airport of departure
If you're traveling by plane, you'll naturally need to reach your departure airport. If you plan to do this by car, it's wise to reserve a parking space in advance. This not only guarantees you a parking space, but online rates can also be more affordable.
Using the online platform Vliegen en Parkeren, you can compare airport parking options and reserve the desired parking space. For example, are you looking for Schiphol Airport parking ? Simply select Schiphol and your travel dates. You can then start the comparison and reserve a parking space. Rates can be higher, especially during peak season, and parking spaces may even be full. So, try to think about arranging a parking space as early as possible.
