The interest in Spain is nothing new, the rise of the Belgians has been going on for some time. An average of 3,500 Belgians buy a second home in Spain every year. Belgians are especially interested in a second home on the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida. Belgians and Dutch people are often interested in the same regions, which is an advantage if you do not yet speak the Spanish language. This way you can quickly find like-minded people with whom you can communicate in your native language.
Belgians are of course not the only ones who like to spend time in Spain, but they are good for fourth place! The British, French and Germans are at numbers 1,2 and 3.
