Please ensure it is no older than 10 years when you are in Spain. If you are under 18 , please note that your ID is valid for a maximum of 5 years . The ID must be valid in Spain at all times.

In Spain, you can also identify yourself with a passport . Please note that certain rules apply to passports. If you applied for your passport when you were over 18, it is valid for a maximum of 10 years. If your passport is older than 10 years, it is no longer valid. If you are under 18 and have a passport, it is valid for a maximum of 5 years. Keep in mind that even if the passport is still within the maximum validity period, it must still be valid for at least 3 months on the date of return.

If you want to go to Spain for a longer period, for example because you have a second home or want to spend the winter, you do not need a visa, provided you are not in Spain for more than 183 days per calendar year.
